E3 08

At the time of writing this, we have seen 2 of the 3 day event that is E3, and so far I'm not impressed at all. E3 was the event everyone waited for all year round. Being only once a year, it was fair to say, you can expect big things announced there. After all it brought us our first look at the colossus PS3 and the friendly Wii(originally called the Revolution, which, by the way, I'd would have much rather prefer) and that other console cough*Xbox360*cough. It also gave us our fix for the year, with over the top graphics from games like Metal Gear Solid 4, and confirmations for games like GTA4 and Resident Evil 5. But now unfortunately, all the "Next-Gen," consoles have already been released, and heavy hitters like GTA4 and MGS4 have come out and have already been beaten by the majority of the players. So whats next? A lot of rumors circulated as we inched closer and closer to July 14, such as a new motion sensor for the 360, and maybe even a new model for one of the top selling consoles, portable or not, the DS. But no, all of them shot, well not all of them, the 360 is coming out with a motion sensing microphone for some wannabee Singstar ripoff. But I feel I'm being to harsh, like I said, all new consoles have been released, and there really isn't anything they can release in terms of hardware, though some companies, like Nintendo are releasing new peripherals like the WiiSpeak, and Motion Plus, but even that didn't create an aww feeling, like back in their '06 conference. This year was, granted, geared towards more of a games presentations. Besides GoW3 and RE5, however I see no bright future. Aww who am I kidding, a lot of great games were released, and almost everyone of thing was demoed, even Gears of War 2, which I must say looks pretty impressive, might even get a 360 because of it. However though, I personally am disappointed in Sony's keynote(Apple habit). After what happened with PS3 2.40 firmware, I guess they couldn't scrap together a decent presentation. Instead, they just put billions of TVs on every f**king wall and hoped no one would know the difference. Basically the only good thing to come out of that presentation was a new PSP bundle and the GoW3 teaser.
P.S. When in hell are they gonna release HOME
