Wii Exploit

Sorry about the lack of updates to this, I've been really busy with packing and stuff. Anyway, I originally wanted this post to be about "Wanted," which some may know as a movie, but also a comic, which I really liked. However it's still early so I'm changing topics. Recently, I've been informed about a possible Wii exploit which could lead to backups being played on the Wii, however the guy who found it doesn't to release it to the public, but instead inform Nintendo about it and hopefully have it patched. Now, I'm a big fan of homebrew, and I've been looking to mod my Wii for some time now, however in lieu of this new info, I'm cautious about buying a mod chip. In all fairness I feel what, by the way his alias is, Bushing is doing is pretty noble, and in a perfect world, he should tell Nintendo. But that's just it, we don't live in a perfect world. Instead we should look at the alternative, release it, and not only will do us all a service, but also become an Icon, the new DarkAlex of the Wii scene. This could be a blessing in disguise, look what hacking did for the PSP, because of it, sales have increased drastically. Granted the Wii needs no bump in sale figures, but more money never makes anyone unhappy. Do the right thing Bushing

Wanted

So, last week, I finally saw Wanted starring Angelina Jolie, and that gut who looks like that guy from "Everwood,"(I swear the look exactly the same). It wasn't really one of those in-the-moment-hey-lets-watch-a-movie kind of thing, but a wow-that-looks-awesome-gotta-watch-it thing. Its hard for me to explain, but what I'm trying to say is that I've been really eager to see this film, and not because Jolie stars in it but because, believe it or not, it's based on a graphic novel, which yours truly read. "Wanted" was originally a story about a lowlife failure who has nothing going for him, he's in a deadbeat job, his girlfriend is screwing his best friend, and hasn't got a dime to his name. Unfortunately that's where the similarities end. A couple of years back(okay not that far, only three months ), I couldn't help but overhear two of my classmates talk about some movie, but i can't remember which, only the fact that it was originally based on a novel. Drifting in and out of drowsiness, only one line stuck with me, "They Eragon'd it." Now I've never read Eragon, or seen the movie, but from what I hear there almost completely different things. This is exactly what happened to "Wanted," I can literary count the similarities on one hand. It doesn't even deserve to use the name "Wanted," seriously why do writers sellout to have there ideas enter mainstream. As far as I can tell, this isn't the first to fall victim to this, as Jumper can also prove. There have been many great adaptations, such as Holes and the Harry Potter series, perfect representations where literary if you've read the book, you can actually guess the next line. However the people behind Wanted must've missed those conference, instead helping themselves to the free ice cream and doughnuts outside. The comics or should I say graphic novels, penned by Mark Miller, is fantastic, with gritty story line, action, and dialogue your mom might not approve of. Its been compare to the Watchmen Series, another comic so good its the only comic in the Times top 100 written works 1923-2005. There're interesting character, each well developed in their own background. My favorites include Tommy Two-d**ks and S**thead, each a satirical design on their DC counterparts( For those who haven't figured it out Tommy=Two Face, and S**thead=Clayface). But to my dismay, none of them mad it to the big screen, Only Wesley and Fox, whose only similarity is her name. After seeing it, I was seriously disappointed, but my friend wasn't. Apparently its a good film, if you've haven't read it. So, my advice, see the movie, but if you really want the true story, I believe its up for D/L, of course I can't condone it, as it's illegal. But hint hint you'll be amazed at what Google can offer.
See You Next Time

E3 08

At the time of writing this, we have seen 2 of the 3 day event that is E3, and so far I'm not impressed at all. E3 was the event everyone waited for all year round. Being only once a year, it was fair to say, you can expect big things announced there. After all it brought us our first look at the colossus PS3 and the friendly Wii(originally called the Revolution, which, by the way, I'd would have much rather prefer) and that other console cough*Xbox360*cough. It also gave us our fix for the year, with over the top graphics from games like Metal Gear Solid 4, and confirmations for games like GTA4 and Resident Evil 5. But now unfortunately, all the "Next-Gen," consoles have already been released, and heavy hitters like GTA4 and MGS4 have come out and have already been beaten by the majority of the players. So whats next? A lot of rumors circulated as we inched closer and closer to July 14, such as a new motion sensor for the 360, and maybe even a new model for one of the top selling consoles, portable or not, the DS. But no, all of them shot, well not all of them, the 360 is coming out with a motion sensing microphone for some wannabee Singstar ripoff. But I feel I'm being to harsh, like I said, all new consoles have been released, and there really isn't anything they can release in terms of hardware, though some companies, like Nintendo are releasing new peripherals like the WiiSpeak, and Motion Plus, but even that didn't create an aww feeling, like back in their '06 conference. This year was, granted, geared towards more of a games presentations. Besides GoW3 and RE5, however I see no bright future. Aww who am I kidding, a lot of great games were released, and almost everyone of thing was demoed, even Gears of War 2, which I must say looks pretty impressive, might even get a 360 because of it. However though, I personally am disappointed in Sony's keynote(Apple habit). After what happened with PS3 2.40 firmware, I guess they couldn't scrap together a decent presentation. Instead, they just put billions of TVs on every f**king wall and hoped no one would know the difference. Basically the only good thing to come out of that presentation was a new PSP bundle and the GoW3 teaser.
P.S. When in hell are they gonna release HOME

GTalk

There isn't anything Google can't do at the moment. Everyday, they seem to defy nature and create brilliant products to ease everyday life. And the fact that they're all free is beautiful in itself. But recently, as usual, I'm having a slight problem that I have no idea how to fix. Gtalk, one of Google's more popular items(in fact it was the reason I first started using a Gmail) has been great with me, and was my primary means of communicating with friends. And when they added Aim protocols, I almost had a heart attack. The fact that I can now look back on previous chats without having to go through the process of saving them, proved useful on many different occasions. Whether it was to confirm a plan, or prove to someone they're lying, Gtalk was definitely built with this in mind(or at least I like to think so :]). But all good things must come to an end, right? It seems recently someone had the audacity to add me as friend on their Aim profile. Normally this would be a joyous occasion, as it was when I first found out. Imagining sitting on your computer and all of a sudden, a little window pops up informing you someone would like to add you. Of course I was eager to see who. Click here was what it stated. But that's where problem arose. There was no hyperlink attached to it. Essentially I was clicking nothing. But Google would never do this on purpose, so I did what anybody with a brain would do, I dusted off the cobwebs from my AOL account and logged on again. Surprisingly I was greeted by that "WELCOME, YOU'VE GOT MAIL," I had been so accustomed too a few years back. So as I snapped out of my brief episode of nostalgia, I saw there, on the top of my inbox, was the Invitation I was looking for. I quickly clicked it and saw who it was from. One of my good buddies. Of course I accepted, and thought that was it. Nope, sorry my friend that's not how things work. After logging back on to GMail again, another pop up showed up.*Cling* Message from AIM, Someone added you as a friend on their profile, Click here of accept. Again and again, in 6 minute intervals, it just kept bothering me. I tried logging ontoMeebo, maybe Google was blocking the hyperlink. To my dismay, the message never even showed up. Tried the next thing, Blocking the Username AIM, but apparently they don't care, still the message would show up. "Maybe it's a different invite," nope, inbox full to its rim, but no trace of another invite. So I have no idea what to do. Maybe you'll say, "Suck it up and just ignore it," but I can't because if I do it just makes a loud Bong sound."Switch to a different IM client," but I can't. Google with its intuitive applications grab you like a drug, with its convenience and simplicity, you can't just get up and leave.Maybe I'm just being a baby and making way to much of a deal about this. I guess I am, but its just so annoying. Whatever maybe it will eventually see my struggles and stop bothering me. I just hope that time is soon

Avenue Q

Following my previous agruements between myself and Firefox, it occured to me that I had completely forgotten about my day. Today I saw Avenue Q on Broadway for the first time, after hearing great things about it.I first heard it why back when in the eight grade(begs the question 'how old am I) when my teacher and a classmate were discussing it between themselves, although it seemed like they wanted us to hear, as I, being on the other side of the room heard everything completely(maybe it was just the acoustics of the room), but even then all I heard was priase. So fast forward, I was offered the chance to see the play for a great price from one of my good friend. So deciding to take him up on his offer, I packed up and was off the Broadway. Lets just say, it is completely worthy of its title as the "Sesame Streets for Adults." Which made sense as the designer of the puppets is the same person who made the ones for Sesame Street. Oops, there I go again, I forgot to mention it was a puppet show, well majority puppet as there are real Humans, not including the puppeteers. But thats what I loved, even though the puppeteers were completely visible, not even bothering to wear black spandex to hide in the darkness, there actions caried on flawlessly onto their puppets to the point you almost forgot they were actually puppets. I guess thats what they were aiming for because it would seem really wierd if they didn't. Anywho, the music was funny, and so were the cheap flash animations, they would put up. This was definetly worth seeing, so check it out.

ODE to FF

Yea, so I'm finally deciding to take the plunge and create one of these bad boys. Its been on my mind for ages, but I never got around to making one. But now, I have a perfect topic to write on, so I might as well begin.

Firefox, I've loved it ever since I've had cable internet(before that it was good old AOL.) Anyway, I wish I could say my love for it has increased, but Firefox just deosn't cut it anymore. Firefox 2 was a step in the right direction, but with more features, it just grew unresponsive. Forget the vast collections of third party add on, most of whom I have grown to depend on. But Firefox kept on eating up at my memory, cause what was once a nice computer, to transform into a crippling paperwieght whenever Firefox was turned on. I wish I could say it got better, as I waited for the release for the much anticipated Firefox 3. I even downloaded the beta version to get a glimspe into its future. With it however, I lost much of much beloved add ons, my Google toolbar, and my dictionary clicker, and wonderful Fasterfox. But I said to myself, "It'll all work out in the end, the rewards would be much greater." Unfortunely it didnt turn out that way, only to a much hunger version, of FF2. The awesome bar was just as the name implied, but i couldnt stand using it one bit longer. The "lag" was unbearable ,but again I thought," Its only the beta, there are bound to be problems somewhere." FF3 however was much the same, as I later learned that RC3 was just the same thing as FF3 only a little bit different. But I can't blame Mozilla, they're doing great things, its only natural to expect more demands from computers as software becomes more and more resourceful. I guess its time to get a new computer, maybe a Mac, I hear the're great. But until then FF, i bid you farewell. And trust me it isnt easy to say that.
